In the course of the meeting the Parties discussed the perspective of the legislative regulation of the issue on the rights of deported nations.
O. Zarubinskyi emphasised that first of all to solve this problem it is necessary to overcome lack of the relevant legislative basis.
The People´s Deputy emphasised in particular, that the Committee have conducted a round table discussion "On the Prospects of Legal Regulation in the Field of Restoration of Rights of the Persons deported on the Grounds of Nationality. Leading Criteria of the Future Law." According to him, the participants of the discussion debated the Bill "On Restoration of Rights of Persons deported on the Grounds of Nationality" (Reg. No.3142) submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers.
O. Zarubinskyi briefed that Mustafa Dzhemilev, the People´s Deputy introduced for the scrutiny of the Verkhovna Rada the bill "On Restoration of Rights of Persons deported on the Grounds of Nationality" (Reg. No5515).
The parties expressed hope that the further legislative work in this sphere would form necessary grounds for the regulation and implementation of the state policy in the sphere of restoration of rights of persons deported on the grounds of nationality.
Clement Boucher expressed interest of the High Commissioner on National Minorities at OSCE in the immediate solution of the problem of the deported people and expressed readiness of the commissioner office to assist the Committee in legislation elaboration.
